The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is actively carrying out 'Operation Lungs 2.0' to remove encroachments from public spaces like footpaths and roads to ease traffic and improve pedestrian safety. Over four days, 2,476 encroachments were removed across eight zones. However, the operation has faced criticism from opposition parties and unions .
