The Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRC) is set to expand its train fleet with three additional six-coach rakes by December 2026. These new trains will nearly double the passenger capacity, improving commuter experience and accommodating the growing ridership as more network sections become operational.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved the Patna Elevated Road Project, a 13.41 km six-lane elevated and at-grade corridor from Saristabad to Didarganj. This project aims to significantly ease traffic congestion within Patna and improve connectivity.

The Patna Metro project is progressing with its first phase, including two main corridors (East-West and North-South), expected to have stations operational by 2027. The project aims to revolutionize urban mobility and is estimated to cost approximately ₹13,365 crore.

Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved a Rs 3,043-crore budget for 2026-27, focusing on waste management, urban development, and infrastructure upgrades. Key projects include a Rs 514-crore integrated solid waste management system , redevelopment of New Market, and IoT-enabled street lights.

Bihar government has proposed a 150-km-long ring road around Patna under the Bharatmala program, with an estimated cost of ₹15,000 crore. This project aims to integrate 12 national and 5 state highways, construct two major bridges over the Ganga, and ease traffic congestion.

A ₹115 crore Mandiri Nala Road Project, also known as Naveen Kishore Sinha Path, has been inaugurated in Patna. This project, executed under the Patna Smart City Mission, features a covered box drain with a modern road constructed above it, , around Bailey road ,Bans Ghat , & linking Nehru Path to JP Ganga path.

The elevated stretch of the Patna Metro from Bhoothnath to Malahi Pakri, a key part of Corridor II, has successfully passed a safety inspection by the Chief Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety. This 2.75 km section, including Khemnichak station, is set to open soon, completing the priority elevated corridor and boosting urban mobility.

The Road Construction Department is conducting a comprehensive review of 22 ongoing road projects in Patna. The focus is on ensuring quality standards, safety, and timely completion. This review aims to improve the city's road infrastructure, leading to better connectivity and a smoother commuting experience for residents.

Trial runs for the Patna Metro Rail Project Phase I have been successfully completed on the Bhootnath – Malahi Pakri stretch. Additionally, pier girder installation is progressing at Mithapur station for the elevated section. A tunnel is planned under Rajendra Nagar Terminal, running from Moinul Haq Stadium through Rajendra Nagar to Malahi Pakri.
