Residents Oppose Commercial Complex in Gandhibagh Garden

Central Nagpur residents are seeking the mayor's intervention against the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's (NMC) proposed 18-storey commercial complex within Gandhibagh Garden, the last major open space in the congested locality. Residents fear the project could affect nearly 27 trees and lead to severe traffic congestion on the arterial road.

Sokta Bhavan Redevelopment Project Finalized in Gandhibagh

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has finalized a Rs 129 crore deal for the redevelopment of Sokta Bhavan in Gandhibagh. The project, awarded on a design-build-finance-operate-and-sale (DBFOS) basis, will transform the dilapidated structure into a modern commercial complex with a Citizen Facilitation Centre. This is expected to ease congestion in the Gandhibagh market and streamline civic service delivery.
