The first phase of the six-lane twin cable-stayed bridge at Ajni, also known as 'Laxman Jhula', is expected to miss its pre-monsoon completion deadline due to substantial pending work. The Rs332 crore project aims to replace a 125-year-old bridge and improve connectivity between South and Central Nagpur.

Roadside hawkers and vendors have returned to key areas like Jhansi Rani Square and Wardha Road shortly after a major anti-encroachment drive by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). This recurring issue highlights challenges in enforcement and pedestrian safety, forcing pedestrians onto roads.

Phase 3 of the Nagpur Metro project proposes a 54.5 km expansion, which will bring the total network to nearly 129 km. This significant growth will place Nagpur among the most extensively connected Tier-2 cities in India. The expansion includes new corridors and Nagpur's first underground metro stretch.

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and police are enforcing a 'no-hawking' policy on Sitabuldi Main Road, detaining 39 hawkers. Only 84 licensed hawkers will be permitted to operate. The NMC will arrange a town vending committee meeting within a week for the remaining hawkers.
