The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has approved a metro project for Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula, with an estimated cost of INR 10,570 Crore. The 39-km metro network, excluding heritage sectors, will include bus terminals and depots and is part of a Comprehensive Mobility Plan approved in April 2023. Phase one is slated for completion between 2027 and 2037.

The Punjab government has decided to revert to the 2013 land acquisition act for acquiring land in Mohali for projects like Eco City 3 and the Aerotropolis extension, after scrapping the Land Pooling Policy 2025.

GMADA is developing a 35-acre Urban Forest in Sector 97, Mohali, with an investment of Rs 32 crore. This initiative aims to improve air quality and provide recreational spaces. Additionally, Rs 17 crore has been allocated for park development and upkeep in the city.

Following a legal resolution, development is back on track in the Phase-9 Industrial Area of Mohali. The Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC) has given the go-ahead for setting up 125 new industrial units, restoring services to bifurcated plots.

Sectors 97 and 98 are experiencing enhanced connectivity due to Mohali's expanding road and transit network, including direct frontage on Airport Road (PR-7) and the planned PR-8 sector road.

Mohali is targeting the clean-up of its legacy waste by September 2025, aiming to clear 4 lakh tonnes of garbage from the Phase 8-B dumping ground. Measures are being implemented to process wet waste and address environmental concerns.

Patchwork on damaged roads across Mohali has commenced and is expected to be completed within two weeks, focusing on key areas like Airport Road, Kumbhra Chowk, Phase 3B2, and near Sohana Gurudwara. The deputy commissioner has prioritized immediate repairs, with complete recarpeting planned in approximately two months.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Union Cabinet have approved the Zirakpur Ring Road Project, a 19.2-kilometer six-lane bypass with a budget of approximately ₹1,878.31 crore to ₹1,900 crore. The project includes three-level interchanges, multiple overpasses and underpasses, and an elevated wildlife corridor over a protected forest in Peer Muchalla.

A proposal for an additional elevated road to decongest the stretch from Industrial Area junction to Zirakpur border is back on the table, with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways directing a DPR preparation.

Hero Realty has acquired an 8.71-acre land parcel in Sector 99, Mohali, for over Rs 260 crore to develop a luxury residential project. This acquisition is part of the company's expansion in the Mohali market, where it is also developing a project in Sector 88.
