Nitin Gadkari announced a massive ₹50000 crores road infrastructure plan for Pune. This includes an elevated corridor between Pune and Shirur, another on the Pune-Solapur route, a new Pune-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar expressway, and road works in the Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur industrial belt.The Pune Ring Road project plus 10 laning of Pune Nashik highway will also progress rapidly

Pune is set to benefit from the Union Budget 2026-27's focus on developing infrastructure in cities with over 5 lakh population. The allocation of Rs 5,000 crore per City Economic Region over five years, along with proposed high-speed rail corridors including one connecting Mumbai and Pune.

Pune Metro's elevated Line 3, spanning 23.203 km and connecting Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar, will begin operations in phases starting June 15, 2026. The first phase will cover 12 stations from the Hinjewadi side, with the remaining stations expected to be operational by October.

Despite a 17% drop in property registrations in January 2026, Pune's real estate market saw only a 5% decline in stamp duty revenue. This indicates a shift towards higher-value property deals. The market is showing a rebound from December 2025, suggesting sustained demand in the mid and premium segments.

PMC is moving forward with plans to construct a new bridge parallel to the existing Rajaram Bridge to alleviate traffic congestion on Sinhagad Road. CM Devendra Fadnavis announced that Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and the Pune Metropolitan region will soon have a nearly 200 km Metro network. Currently, about 33 km of the metro network is operational, & 55 km in construction phase ,with further additions planned.

One tube of the new Khambataki Ghat Tunnel on the Pune-Satara National Highway has opened for a trial run for light vehicles. This is expected to reduce travel time through the ghat from approximately 45 minutes to just 7 minutes, significantly improving connectivity and safety. The tunnel aims to replace the accident-prone ghat section, with the full project, including the second tube, targeted for completion by March 2026.

Key demands include 24x7 PMC water pipeline connections, road widening, pothole repair, synchronized traffic signals, a flyover at Undri Chowk, efficient waste management, and improved street lighting and CCTV surveillance.
