The land acquisition process for vertical and horizontal road projects across 35 villages in the Mohali-Kharar region has been accelerated. Public hearings will commence from April 21, with the aim of boosting infrastructure, improving connectivity, and easing traffic congestion, thereby stimulating economic activity.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has lifted the interim ban on new construction in Kharar, which had been imposed due to delays in the master plan notification. This decision allows construction activities to resume, providing relief to homeowners and developers. The revision of the Kharar master plan, which dates back to 2010, is also being monitored by the court and is expected to commence within the year,

The newly operational Bharatmala corridor has significantly eased traffic pressure on Airport Road (PR-7) in Mohali, diverting heavy vehicles and reducing congestion. This corridor, costing around ₹1,400 crore, facilitates smoother traffic flow from Delhi towards Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Punjab's Industries and Commerce Minister Sanjeev Arora announced the development of a new Multipurpose Exhibition and Convention Centre in Mohali's IT City. The Rs 250 crore project, developed under a Public-Private Partnership, aims to position Punjab as a hub for global events and investments.

Kharar MLA Anmol Gagan Maan has inaugurated road repair projects totaling Rs 8 crore. The initiative includes re-carpeting and tiling of approximately 22 km of roads across Sunny Enclave and wards 1, 23, 24, and 25. Key roads like Hospital Road and Randhawa Road, which connect to Ludhiana Road, are being prioritized.

The Mohali Municipal Corporation (MC) is facing increased pressure on its civic infrastructure due to the expansion of its limits, with reports highlighting gaps in essential services in newly added areas. To address these deficiencies, the MC plans to seek substantial funds from GMADA and has drafted a development plan for short-term and long-term interventions. .
