Chandigarh Administration has proposed significant amendments to its Master Plan-2031, aiming for higher-density development, taller buildings, and increased design flexibility to better utilize limited land and accommodate population growth. Key proposals include increasing ground coverage in institutional pockets, a fivefold increase in Floor Area Ratio (FAR) for institutional areas, and revised height restrictions.

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has launched its 50th affordable housing project, 'White City,' in Sector 114, Mohali. This 25-acre plotted colony aims to provide home ownership opportunities for lower and middle-income groups, increasing the availability of affordable housing in the city.
