The Tribune Chowk flyover project in Chandigarh is finally moving forward, with construction expected to begin in April after a seven-year delay. The 1.6-km flyover aims to ease traffic congestion at a busy intersection. The project's cost has increased from ₹137 crore in 2019 to ₹200 crore due to procedural delays.

Mohali is set for a transformative year in 2026 with significant infrastructure upgrades, including green initiatives and civic projects. Plans include a modern Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant for Sector 101, IT City. Several road projects, such as the Mohali-Sirhind highway and a new road connecting Phase 11 to the airport, are expected to open, improving connectivity and reducing travel time.

The 6th Progressive Punjab Investors' Summit is scheduled to be held in Mohali from March 13 to 15, 2026. The summit aims to showcase Punjab as a 'future-ready' investment hub, attracting industrial giants and highlighting the state's robust industrial ecosystem, governance reforms, and investment opportunities.

Mohali is set to receive 50 km of world-class roads as part of a ₹140 crore Punjab government initiative to enhance connectivity, improve aesthetics, and boost the quality of life for residents. This development is expected to positively impact real estate values, commercial investments, and tourism in the region. Simultaneously, India's only chip-making facility, the Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL) in Mohali, is undergoing a significant ₹4,500 crore upgrade over the next three years to increase chip production capacity .

The Mohali Municipal Corporation carried out a significant anti-encroachment drive targeting illegal roadside vendors and hawkers in Phase 1, Phase 3A, 3B1, and Phase 6. Authorities confiscated goods, dismantled makeshift setups, and issued challans to showroom owners for encroachments on public roads.

The Tricity region (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula) is experiencing a property market boom driven by improved infrastructure, connectivity, and a focus on quality of life, making it a preferred choice for homebuyers and investors. The post-pandemic shift in homebuyer preferences, combined with better air quality and lower population density in Tier-II cities, has positioned Panchkula and Mohali as promising real estate growth corridors.
