Newly launch ,RERA approved projects in Zirakpur, including Vamana Arvindam (in Nabha) and Sushma Grande NXT(on Gazipur Road), are emphasizing safe investment opportunities. These projects offer various configurations like 2, 3, and 4 BHK apartments.

The Punjab Transparency and Accountability Commission has imposed a penalty of ₹25,000 each on six officials of the GMADA for failing to deliver public services within prescribed timelines. This action aims to ensure timely delivery of Public services .

NHAI has awarded the construction work for the Zirakpur-Panchkula bypass (19.2 km) and a spur connecting it to the Ambala-Chandigarh expressway (10.3 km). This Rs 1,983-crore project aims to dismantle the chronic traffic gridlock in Zirakpur and surrounding areas by creating a six-lane bypass.

The Punjab government has withdrawn the Punjab Unified Building Bye-Laws, 2025,reinstating the 2021 Building Rules and 2018 Bye-Laws. This policy reversal follows concerns raised about legal, procedural, and infrastructural shortcomings. The restoration of the earlier rules aims to provide a more stable and established regulatory framework for construction in the region.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the construction of a 6-lane Zirakpur Bypass, spanning 19.2 km, at a cost of Rs 1,878.31 crore. This project, part of the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan, aims to ease congestion in Zirakpur, Panchkula, and surrounding areas by diverting traffic from Patiala, Delhi, and Mohali Aerocity, while providing direct connectivity to Himachal Pradesh.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded the construction work for the 19.2 km Zirakpur-Panchkula bypass and a 10.3 km spur connecting it to the Ambala-Chandigarh expressway. RKCPL Limited and Ceigall Infra Projects Private Limited are the selected bidders. The bypass is expected to be operational by early 2028, and the spur by late 2027.

New development charges have been implemented in Mohali, with promoters of residential colonies now paying approximately ₹1.05 crore per acre. This increase is designed to fund essential infrastructure development such as roads and water systems. Consequently, property costs for buyers are expected to rise, reflecting the increased development charges.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal unveiled a vision to transform the Mohali–Zirakpur–Dera Bassi–New Chandigarh–Kharar belt into a major financial and IT hub. The plan includes developing an IT hub, tourism projects, industrial development, and metro connectivity, aiming to create a new metropolitan city within five years.

Despite a pending High Court petition, the Punjab Government has opened financial bids for the Mohali Next Generation Roads Programme. Gawar Construction Limited emerged as the lowest bidder at ₹673.99 crore. This ambitious project aims to upgrade and maintain 83.4 km of major roads and junctions over 10 years.
