The Gujarat government has signed MoU with HUDCO to secure long-term financing of up to ₹1 lakh crore for various infrastructure projects across the state. The funds will be utilized for projects including Gujarat Metro Rail Phases 2 and 3, expressways, sports infrastructure, and the development of modern infrastructure in Dholera.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of a 45-meter viaduct span over the busy Kalupur Flyover in Ahmedabad. This construction is part of the High-Speed Rail Corridor's progress.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is developing sports activity centers under nine city bridges as part of a plan to transform Ahmedabad into an international-level Sports City. Two centers are already operational, and work has commenced on three more.

Ganesh Housing Limited has launched 'Million Minds Tech City,' a significant IT SEZ project near GIFT City in Ahmedabad. This development is poised to create over 70,000 high-skilled jobs and enhance Ahmedabad's appeal as a hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and technology companies.

The cable-stayed bridge at Bhat Circle on the Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad Airport Road is nearing completion. Load testing, a crucial step before opening to traffic, will commence on May 7, 2026. The process involves stationing 18 trucks with a combined load of approximately 700 tonnes on the bridge to assess its structural stability.

The Union Cabinet approved a Rs 1,067.35 crore extension of the Ahmedabad Metro's North-South corridor from GIFT City to Shahpur. This 3.33 km elevated stretch, featuring three stations, is expected to be completed in four years. The project aims to significantly enhance connectivity between Ahmedabad and the GIFT region.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated that hosting the Commonwealth 2030 Games will create significant opportunities for the real estate sector in Gujarat, including Ahmedabad. He emphasized that ongoing projects like GIFT City, Dholera SIR, and the metro rail network are already driving unprecedented growth in real estate and infrastructure.

Ahmedabad is experiencing significant vertical growth, with average Floor Space Index (FSI) utilization increasing from 2.2 in 2021 to 3.7 in 2025, according to CEPT University. This allows for taller structures, helping to keep property prices in check by enabling builders to construct vertically and offer better amenities. GIFT City is set to enhance its livability with the planned construction of a new public sports arena spread across 2.5 acres.
