The Yellow Line of the Ahmedabad Metro has been extended to Mahatma Mandir from Sachivalaya. This extension is part of the ongoing development of Ahmedabad's metro network, aiming to improve public transportation and connectivity within the city. The expanded line is expected to reduce travel time and offer a more convenient commuting option for residents and visitors.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Phase 2 of the Ahmedabad Metro, opening a 7.8-kilometer stretch with seven operational stations, connecting Sector 10A to Mahatma Mandir. This expansion significantly enhances public transport, promising faster, safer, and more comfortable travel between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, while also aiming to ease traffic congestion.

A mega sports infrastructure project, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (SVP) Sports Enclave, is proposed in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, involving approximately 125 hectares of land. The project aims to enhance sports facilities in the region. The development is expected to boost the city's sports infrastructure, potentially preparing it for major sporting events.

Nirma Group is planning a 555-room luxury hotel on Ahmedabad's SG Highway, to be operational before the 2030 Commonwealth Games, anticipating increased tourism and corporate travel. Simultaneously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced India is actively preparing to bid for the 2036 Olympic Games, with Ahmedabad as a strong contender, and a substantial budget for world-class sports facilities and infrastructure.

The Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (GujRERA) has announced new banking rules for developers, effective January 1, 2025, requiring them to maintain three separate bank accounts for each project to enhance financial transparency. GujRERA has also implemented a rule requiring all registered construction sites to display detailed project information boards, with RERA details, sanctioned plans, specifications, bank info, and QR code.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated that hosting the Commonwealth 2030 Games will create significant opportunities for the real estate sector in Gujarat, including Ahmedabad. He emphasized that ongoing projects like GIFT City, Dholera SIR, and the metro rail network are already driving unprecedented growth in real estate and infrastructure.

Ahmedabad is experiencing significant vertical growth, with average Floor Space Index (FSI) utilization increasing from 2.2 in 2021 to 3.7 in 2025, according to CEPT University. This allows for taller structures, helping to keep property prices in check by enabling builders to construct vertically and offer better amenities. GIFT City is set to enhance its livability with the planned construction of a new public sports arena spread across 2.5 acres.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple infrastructure and public welfare projects in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad. These include railway overbridges, grade separators, bridges, flyovers, roads, redeveloped lakes (Vastrapur and Sarkhej Shakari), public gardens, yoga studios, primary health centers, and sports complexes.

The Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar Metro Phase II is set to be completed by December, with allocations made in the Gujarat budget for its further development.

Two new stations, Juna Koba and Koba Gam, on the Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar Metro Yellow Line opened on September 28, 2025.The stations are located between Koba Circle and GNLU, providing access to Sachivalaya, APMC, and GIFT City.
