The land acquisition process for the Patna-Purnia six-lane greenfield corridor, now declared National Expressway-9 (NE-9), is in progress. The estimated cost of the 245-km project is around Rs 18,042 crore. This expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Patna and Purnia to 3 hours.The government plans to start construction by early 2027.

Patna officials have collected over Rs 2.25 crore in fines and dismantled 1,402 unauthorized structures during anti-encroachment drives. Stringent measures are being taken to clear obstructions on major routes, aiming to improve traffic flow and public movement. This crackdown is expected to lead to smoother traffic and more organized public spaces.
