Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved a Rs 3,043-crore budget for 2026-27, focusing on waste management, urban development, and infrastructure upgrades. Key projects include a Rs 514-crore integrated solid waste management system , redevelopment of New Market, and IoT-enabled street lights.

The elevated stretch of the Patna Metro from Bhoothnath to Malahi Pakri, a key part of Corridor II, has successfully passed a safety inspection by the Chief Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety. This 2.75 km section, including Khemnichak station, is set to open soon, completing the priority elevated corridor and boosting urban mobility.

The Road Construction Department is conducting a comprehensive review of 22 ongoing road projects in Patna. The focus is on ensuring quality standards, safety, and timely completion. The land acquisition process for the Patna-Purnia six-lane greenfield corridor, now declared National Expressway-9 (NE-9), is in progress. The estimated cost of the 245-km project is around Rs 18,042 crore. This expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Patna and Purnia to 3 hours.The government plans to start construction by early 2027.
