The Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRC) is set to expand its train fleet with three additional six-coach rakes by December 2026. These new trains will nearly double the passenger capacity, improving commuter experience and accommodating the growing ridership as more network sections become operational.

The Bihar Land Mutation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, has been passed, introducing a fee of Rs 200 on applications for land mutation, appeals, and revision of land records. The government stated that additional resources are needed to fund development works.

Metro train operations in Patna are set to extend to Malahi Pakri station shortly, following approval from the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS). This development on the priority section of the Patna Metro Rail project will complete the entire stretch of the Blue Line's priority corridor.

The Patna Metro project is progressing with its first phase, including two main corridors (East-West and North-South), expected to have stations operational by 2027. The project aims to revolutionize urban mobility and is estimated to cost approximately ₹13,365 crore.

Bihar government has proposed a 150-km-long ring road around Patna under the Bharatmala program, with an estimated cost of ₹15,000 crore. This project aims to integrate 12 national and 5 state highways, construct two major bridges over the Ganga, and ease traffic congestion.
