The Patna Metro project is progressing with its first phase, including two main corridors (East-West and North-South), expected to have stations operational by 2027. The project aims to revolutionize urban mobility and is estimated to cost approximately ₹13,365 crore.

Bihar government has proposed a 150-km-long ring road around Patna under the Bharatmala program, with an estimated cost of ₹15,000 crore. This project aims to integrate 12 national and 5 state highways, construct two major bridges over the Ganga, and ease traffic congestion.

CM Samrat Choudhary has directed officials to expedite the Patna Metro Rail project and explore the feasibility of an Ultra Pod Taxi system to link the airport with the metro network. The metro project aims to ease congestion and reduce travel time, while the proposed UltraPOD system is envisioned as a 5-km dedicated track for on-demand transit between key administrative and institutional centers.

Bihar has secured over $1 billion in investment from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to boost infrastructure, industrial growth, and key sectors like agriculture and tourism. The state government has also sent three major infrastructure projects, including a 12km bridge over the Gandak river and two highway upgrades worth Rs 10,000 crore, to the Union Cabinet for approval.

The Patna Metro's first operational route, a 3.6-kilometer stretch from Patliputra ISBT to Bhootnath Station via Zero Mile, was inaugurated on October 6, 2025, and opened to the public on October 7. The metro will operate from 8 am to 10 pm with trains available every 20 minutes, and each train will have 12 reserved seats for women and the disabled.
