Jaipur Infrastructure Boost: Projects Advance City Development

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed officials to ensure the timely completion of construction and repair work in dilapidated government schools. An executing agency will be appointed by the school education department to ensure accountability. The CM also emphasized community participation, encouraging philanthropists and prominent citizens to contribute to school building maintenance. He further ordered that 20% of funds from the Dang, Magra, and Mewat Regional Development Plan be prioritized for school building maintenance. Additionally, classroom and facility expansions will be made in proportion to student numbers, and wheelchair facilities will be provided for students with special needs. An action plan for installing solar power plants on school and college rooftops is also being developed. The Rajasthan government is also set to receive nearly Rs 3,900 crore from the Centre for strengthening school education infrastructure, with a focus on ICT, smart classrooms and science laboratories. The Centre has agreed to release an additional Rs 697.88 crore for setting up 3,834 smart classes, 2,657 Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs and 2,256 science laboratories in government schools across the state. The facilities will include biology, physics and chemistry labs aimed at promoting scientific learning and innovation among students. In addition, the state will receive Rs 3,200 crore under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, of which the first installment will be released soon.
