The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is set to reconstruct a three-decade-old master stormwater drain along the Old Delhi-Gurgaon Road. The 2.8 km stretch, estimated to cost Rs 32 crore, aims to eliminate drainage bottlenecks and prevent waterlogging during heavy rainfall.

MCG has introduced an additional sanitation charge on property tax bills, covering waste collection and street sweeping services. While authorities state this is to cover sanitation infrastructure, residents criticize it as a 'double payment' due to existing gaps in municipal services and reliance on private collectors.

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has issued a notice advising residents of Palam Vihar, Sector 23, and Sector 23A to inspect and replace old galvanized iron (GI) water supply connections due to risks of leakage, corrosion, and water contamination.

MCG finance and contracts committee has approved 45 projects worth Rs 282 crore, with over 70% dedicated to road construction, repair, and maintenance across the city. Key projects include road development in Saraswati Enclave, Mayfield Garden, South City-2, and Palam Vihar, along with model road construction in Daultabad.

MCG has commenced significant civic infrastructure development projects in Sushant Lok 1, South City 1, Nirvana Country, and Palam Vihar. These projects include road repairs, linking stormwater drains, door-to-door waste collection, and sewage line cleaning. A total of Rs 88.35 crore will be utilized for these and expected to be completed within two months.

The Haryana Cabinet will hold its first meeting in Gurugram at PWD rest house after ten years on April 22, 2026. The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, will discuss key proposals and review ongoing development and infrastructure projects across the state. This signifies Gurugram's growing importance in the state's political and developmental landscape.
