MMRDA has secured 216 acres in the Raigad district for the 'Mumbai 3.0' project. This initiative aims to create an integrated urban ecosystem with specialized districts for technology, finance, healthcare, and logistics . Its strategic location near key infrastructure like Atal Setu and Navi Mumbai International Airport will enhance connectivity .

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has presented a surplus budget of ₹48,072 crore, with a significant 87% allocated to infrastructure projects, including ₹4,000 crore for the development of Mumbai 3.0 New Town. This budget prioritizes planned urban expansion, improved connectivity, and enhanced urban services, aiming to boost the region's infrastructure ecosystem.

MMRDA has proposed an 18.4 km elevated corridor, Metro-12A, to run from Manpada in Kalyan to Khutari village in Taloja. This project aims to significantly improve connectivity between Kalyan-Dombivli and the trans-harbour areas of Navi Mumbai. The corridor is expected to have 10-12 stations and may intersect with Metro Lines 14 and 5.

Nearly 87% of the MMRDA's ₹48,072.5 crore budget for 2026-27 is dedicated to infrastructure works. A significant ₹4,000 crore is earmarked for the new Karnala-Sai-Chirner town under the 'Mumbai 3.0' decentralization plan, along with ₹500 crore for the Pen growth center and ₹100 crore for the Kharbav business park.
