The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is seeking loans totaling ₹9,950 crore for Metro Line 5A and Metro Line 12A. These projects are expected to enhance connectivity between Kalyan, Ulhasnagar, Navi Mumbai, and Taloja, leading to reduced congestion, travel time, and vehicle emissions.

Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and IHG Hotels & Resorts have signed an agreement to develop five hotels across Navi Mumbai, Jaipur, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram, adding approximately 1,500 keys. The development is driven by the rising travel demand and the expansion of airport-led hospitality and tourism infrastructure in these cities, including Navi Mumbai.

CIDCO has unveiled an ambitious ₹16,250 crore budget for FY27, signaling a significant infrastructure expansion centered around the Navi Mumbai International Airport. The plan includes developing integrated zones like Aerocity, EduCity, and MediCity to drive economic activity and attract investments.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has scheduled a 24-hour water supply shutdown from May 13th to May 14th, 2026, for essential maintenance and upgrades on the Morbe water pipeline. This work includes repairs to a balancing tank and pipeline connections, aiming to improve long-term water supply reliability.

Navi Mumbai is poised for growth with ongoing infrastructure projects like the airport and Atal Setu. The city is expanding its scale to offer township experiences and is becoming an attractive alternative for companies seeking lower operational costs compared to Mumbai. MMRDA has presented a surplus budget with a substantial allocation towards infrastructure projects, including roads, public transport, and urban development. A significant portion is earmarked for the development of Mumbai 3.0 New Town, aiming to accelerate infrastructure delivery, enhance connectivity, and improve urban services across the region.

MMRDA has secured 216 acres in the Raigad district for the 'Mumbai 3.0' project. This initiative aims to create an integrated urban ecosystem with specialized districts for technology, finance, healthcare, and logistics . Its strategic location near key infrastructure like Atal Setu and Navi Mumbai International Airport will enhance connectivity .

MMRDA has proposed an 18.4 km elevated corridor, Metro-12A, to run from Manpada in Kalyan to Khutari village in Taloja. This project aims to significantly improve connectivity between Kalyan-Dombivli and the trans-harbour areas of Navi Mumbai. The corridor is expected to have 10-12 stations and may intersect with Metro Lines 14 and 5.
