Mumbai recorded 12,848 property registrations in February 2026, generating over Rs 1,118 crore in stamp duty revenue. This marks the strongest February performance in 14 years, with a 6% year-on-year increase in registrations and a 20% rise in stamp duty collections. This surge indicates a robust real estate market, with a higher proportion of premium and large-ticket transactions.

Mumbai is experiencing a surge in infrastructure and activity. The BMC has proposed a record budget of ₹80,952.56 crore for FY 2026-27, with a significant portion allocated to infrastructure projects like the Coastal Road, Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR), and Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs).MMRDA has allocated over ₹5,400 crore for road tunnel projects, including one connecting Worli-Bandra Sea Link to Mumbai Airport.

The Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, is fully operational, connecting Cuffe Parade to Aarey JVLR. The 33.5-km underground line has 27 stations and is expected to serve 13 lakh passengers daily. The final phase was inaugurated on October 9, 2025, and integrates with existing transport networks, providing connectivity to business hubs, entertainment zones, and airports.
