MMRDA is targeting the completion of all its ongoing infrastructure projects by December 2028, a year ahead of the previously set deadline. This includes an extensive network of roads, tunnels, sea links, and metro corridors ,Thane-Borivali twin tunnel project , aimed at improving travel across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and establishing seamless east-west and north-south connectivity.

The indefinite strike by BEST Undertaking employees entered its second day, causing significant disruptions to public bus services across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Electricity distribution services, however, continued without interruption.

Reliance Industries' real estate arm, as part of a consortium, has secured the redevelopment rights for the 101-acre Juhu Lane–Gilbert Hill slum cluster in Andheri. This project, one of Mumbai's largest slum redevelopment opportunities, aims to rehabilitate over 28,000 homes.

Mumbai's residential real estate market has started the new financial year strongly, with property registrations in April 2026 reaching a 14-year high. Prime residential prices in Mumbai have seen an 8.7% increase, leading to a shrinking of purchasable space for $1 million (₹9.4 crore). According to Knight Frank's Wealth Report 2026, $1 million now buys 96 sq m in Mumbai, down from 99 sq m a year ago.
