PMC has announced an alternate-day water supply schedule starting June 15, 2026, to conserve dwindling water reserves. The civic body expects to reduce daily water consumption by approximately 400 MLD. Restrictions are in place for non-essential uses like car washing and filling swimming pool.

PMC has prioritized the construction of a nine-kilometer link road between Mumbai–Satara Highway (NH48) to the Pune–Solapur Highway in south Pune. This project is part of a larger scheme to develop 19 roads at a cost of Rs 9.82 billion. Efforts are also underway to complete the Katraj-Kondhwa road widening.

The Pune Municipal Corporation's general body has approved proposals for extending the Pune Metro to peripheral areas. New routes from Khadakwasla to Donaje, Katraj to Khed Shivapur, Katraj to Undri, and Wagholi to Lonikand have been sanctioned. These extensions are expected to improve connectivity to Sinhagad Fort, the proposed outer ring road, and newly developing areas.

The Katraj-Kondhwa road widening project in Pune has seen significant progress, with substantial funds allocated for land acquisition and the first phase nearing completion. This crucial corridor, connecting two national highways, has faced increasing congestion due to rapid development.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has prioritized arterial road projects in its draft budget for 2026-27, allocating Rs 1,800 crore for road and transport infrastructure. Key projects include the Shivane-Kharadi riverside road and the Katraj-Kondhwa bypass, aimed at decongesting traffic. The budget focuses on completing missing road links and improving land acquisition processes.

PMC has allocated ₹740 crore in its 2026-27 budget to enhance traffic infrastructure, including road repairs, flyover-bridge projects. .A separate allocation of Rs 100 crore has been made for the development of the Katraj-Kondhwa road. Also, Ghorpadi railway overbridge, Aga Khan riverbridge and Suncity-Karvenagar riverbridge are planned to be completed before monsoon.

PMC has acknowledged sewage contamination in the city's drinking water supply, affecting approximately 60 to 70 locations, prompting the allocation of ₹20 crore for pipeline repairs. This action follows complaints from corporators and residents about foul-smelling and discolored wate. Affected areas include Kondhwa, Hadapsar, Katraj, Shivneri Nagar, Bhagyodayanagar, Santosh Nagar and Anjaninagar.
