The Uttar Pradesh government has informed the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that 888 unauthorized colonies across six districts are discharging approximately 40 million liters of sewage daily into the Hindon River. This discharge, along with industrial effluent and sludge from open storm drains, contributes to severe river pollution.

The Noida Authority has issued allotment letters to 10 major entrepreneurs for industrial plots through an e-auction scheme including Companies like Haldiram Snacks and Nexem Energy. These plots, covering over 20,000 square meters, are expected to attract an investment of nearly Rs 600 crore and generate around 2,200 new employment opportunities.
