Pune's new double-decker flyover, featuring a road flyover below and a Metro line above, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to alleviate traffic congestion in areas like Baner, Pashan, Shivajinagar, and Aundh. Additionally, a 31.50 km six-lane elevated highway will be constructed on the Pune-Solapur national highway from Hadapsar to Yavat at a cost of ₹5,262 crore

Pune is experiencing advancements in several infrastructure projects. The Pune-Lonavla rail corridor is being upgraded to facilitate speeds of up to 130 kmph by June 2026.The state government has sanctioned ₹350 crore to strengthen the electricity network in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Works are expedited for water supply infrastructure projects in the Aundh-Bopodi area.

Several infrastructure projects in and around Pune are progressing towards completion. One of the two new river bridges on the Mutha River at Warje on the Mumbai-Bengaluru Bypass is complete ,awaiting final testing, Balewadi-Kaspate Wasti bridge over the Mula-Mutha river, is expected to complete in an year. Pune University Square flyover is targeted for completion in 2026 ,easing traffic to Shivajinagar, Aundh, Baner, and Pashan.

Pune's residential real estate market experienced a 20% decline in new apartment sales in 2025, attributed to economic pressures and rising property prices. While overall transaction value increased due to higher deal sizes and a shift towards luxury housing, affordability remains a concern. Property prices across Pune, saw significant growth in 2025, with Pune prices increasing by 115% since 2019.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has reactivated its footpath audit programs to inspect and repair footpaths across key zones, addressing obstructions, poor surface quality, and encroachments to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility in areas like Shivajinagar, Kothrud, Ghole Road, and Aundh.

Parents, students, and residents protested against a proposal to install a new railway parcel gate on Aundh-Bhau Patil Road, citing safety concerns for children and increased traffic congestion. They are demanding the revocation or relocation of the gate, along with better traffic signals, crosswalks, and pedestrian safety measures.
