Pune Metro's another Double-Decker Project

A 4.7 km double-decker elevated Metro rail-cum-flyover extension is set to begin construction from Ramwadi to Tuljabhavani, merging with the Kharadi bypass station and a spur line to Pune Airport. The first level will feature a six-lane elevated road, aiming to significantly reduce traffic congestion on the highway from Pune to Ahilyanagar. This project, is similar to existing double decker metro on Karve Road and Ganeshkhind Road.

Pune Infrastructure Projects Advance Amidst Civic Concerns over increased FSI

Pune Metro Line-3 is targeting station readiness by March 31, 2026. The Pune civic body has approved major infrastructure projects worth ₹2,500 crore, including a pollution abatement project for the Mula-Mutha river & SPPU chowk flyover for Ganeshkhind Concerns are also rising about the environmental impact of Pune's building boom due to increased Floor Space Index (FSI), in fast developing localities esp Aundh ,Bavdhan , kothrud, Pashan & Baner.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved Rs 92 crore for the construction of a flyover and grade separator at Bindu Madhav Balasaheb Thackeray Chowk in Yerawada to ease traffic congestion. Additionally, the PMC plans to construct a grade separator and a connecting ramp at Pune University Junction to further ease traffic flow on Ganeshkhind Road, with work expected to begin after the second arm of the Ganeshkhind flyover opens.
