Pune Infrastructure Boost: Metro, Flyovers, Railway Expansion, and Road Works
Pune is experiencing significant infrastructure development. Construction has started on a 4.7-kilometer double-decker flyover integrated with a Metro rail corridor along Nagar Road. Pune Railway Station is set to expand with six new platforms and the extension of four existing ones to improve passenger convenience. Additionally, MIDC is investing ₹368 crore in Chakan road development projects.

The PMC has identified 20 land parcels near metro stations for developing parking facilities to improve commuter convenience. Four of these plots will be designated near the Yerwada and Ramwadi Metro stations, addressing concerns raised in Public Interest Litigation (PIL) No. 74 of 2024. The identified locations include J M Road, Nagar Road, and Karve Road, among others.
