Churchgate and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) are major points for the Western and Central railway lines of the country. Areas like Prabhadevi, Mahalaxmi, Dadar, Curry Road, Lalbaug, Worli, and Matunga have also evolved into prime residential destinations.Physical Infrastructure: Bandra-Worli Sea Link which arises from Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Road in Worli provides excellent connectivity to Bandra.  This link reduces the travel time significantly.  Western Express Highway is a 25 km long multiple-lane arterial road stretching from Mahim Creek to Dahisar. Eastern Express Highway is 24 km city express highway. It is north-south artery of Mumbai connecting city to the eastern suburbs and as well as the metropolitan area of Thane. The Eastern Freeway is a 17 km long road that connects P D’Mello road in South Mumbai to the Eastern Express Highway at Ghatkopar. The Western railway line that consists of more than 30 stations from Dahanu Road to Churchgate railway station. The Central railway line from C.S.T. to Kalyan junction. Planning to expand it up to Kasara and Khopoli. The Phase 1 of Monorail - the 8.8 km stretch between Chembur to Wadala is operational and the extension for Line 1 in Phase 2 consisting of 11 stations from Wadala to Jacob Circle will be operational soon and is expected to decongest local railway line that runs on the similar route.Ongoing Infrastructure:The proposed Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ metro link will be a major infrastructural project in this region along with the proposed air-conditioned train network is expected to reduce the congestion and load on a Western rail line that runs on the similar route.
