Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill is not a stranger to Hollywood’s red carpet, but he likes to live a simple and humble life away from all the glam.

He has been in the limelight again with the popularity of his new series, The Witcher, after his iconic character of Superman. Geralt of Rivia plays a functional protagonist of this Netflix series that is highly influenced by the concept of a video game. Henry himself is behind persuading Netflix to do the show based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher books. The show’s first season was based on “The last wish and sword of destiny”, including parts from “The blood of elves”.

The world’s sexiest man for 2013, when asked in several interviews what his man cave looks like, he humbly replied, “I don’t have a man cave”. The Superman actor is not only modest but also meek and resides in a small mews house in London other than a fancy and amenity-flushed high top penthouse.

Nowadays, this 38-year-old handsome actor resides in South Kensington in London, UK.

The home where Henry spent most of his childhood has now gone to the market for a hefty 3.8 million euros. The mansion sits above the Valle de Vaux on Jersey, Channel Island. L’Ecluse is a French word and translates to ‘The Lock’.

The house is believed to be built in the 1870s, consisting of seven bedrooms, one for each family member, which was renovated later in 2006 with some prominent changes. Dormer windows were added to the house, and an erected tower with a staircase leading to the rooftop garden. 

Apart from a spacious open playroom, sitting and dining space, it also offers a luxurious new English kitchen equipped with granite and a marble kitchen island countertop. This large cooking space is equipped with modern amenities and ample room for all the titbits. A serene selection of white cabinets illuminates the room, adding a touch of sophistication to the interiors. This kitchen has always been the heart of the Cavill family; maybe this is where Henry himself learned the fine skill of cooking. 

The adjoining sitting room highlights the house with huge windows, adding an extra oomph to this family’s living space. It has warm decor with wooden furnishings and comfortable seating for everyone to relax and soak in the freshness from the view of the garden.

“The fragrance of greenery right at the beginning of autumn and in the peak of spring is just indescribable; it can only be felt,” Henry said in an interview. He justified that his London home isn’t a stable, but a mews converted into a house over the years. The devout video gamer has a small gaming area with a PC in his living room, which he built himself from scratch. 

“I’m a big PC gamer, which probably came from my father as he loves PCs”, Henry stated in an interview. The video shows a glimpse of the star’s room, where a red leather couch and beautiful floral curtains complete the look of his favourite space.

During his childhood days, all six brothers set up their gaming table in their dining hall, where they had 4 to 5 computers which became an essential part of Cavill’s life. 

He also focuses on other fantasy projects like Warhammer 40,000 universe, where he spends his free time painting the game miniatures. The English actor passionately enjoys playing the Witcher or Total war: Warhammer when he is not busy shooting for another blockbuster.

The monster-slayer Geralt Witcher doesn’t only save the world fictionally, but in real life, he also takes the initiative to make it better by supporting several charities, causes and trusts. Some of which include Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust (for which he is a spokesman) and Royal Marines Charitable trust(ambassador). 

He has also participated in several events like– running the Gibraltar Rock Run, the BAFTA Los Angeles tea party and even lent out support to many conservation trusts. 

The Durrell Trust was founded over fifty years ago by Gerald Durrell on the Channel Island of the jersey. It is a fond memory for Cavill, reminding him of his childhood outings to the charity’s wildlife park on his native island.

The Man of Steel also supports causes like Service Member Support and Conservation Veteran.
