In addition to its main services, UTIITSL provides multiple secondary services to individuals and entities. The Government of India has also entrusted UTIITSL to manage and regulate PAN-related processes.

Who Should Need UTIITSL PAN Card?

The Income Tax Department has ordered that all taxpaying organisations possess a PAN card. Therefore, every tax-paying entity—a person, a company, or an organisation—is given a PAN. However, the PAN given to each company differs based on the applicant’s characteristics. The different PAN cards’ details are as follows:-

Individuals

When it comes to people, the PAN card that is issued assists the Income Tax Department in determining the overall tax amount by taking into account all of the different financial transactions that the taxpayer does during a given year.

Companies

The PAN card includes the company’s registration date for organisations. It doesn’t carry a photograph.

Foreigners

Foreign nationals who wish to do business in India must have a PAN number. To achieve this, they must complete Form 49AA.

What is an AO Code and How to Find it for the PAN Allotment

The Assessing Officer’s code, or AO code, designates whose authority the applicant’s ITR will come under. This code must be entered into the application when requesting a PAN card. In their application, these applicants must provide the AO code, which can be acquired from the Income Tax Office.

One can visit the Income Tax Office, where applicants can find their AO code. As an alternative, the AO Code is also available online, and one can learn how to use it by visiting the AO Code for PAN page by Square Yards. It is important to note that future policy updates from the Income Tax Department may result in changes to the AO Code for a particular PAN card bearer.
