Steps to Reissue or Renew Passport Online

Step 1: Register at Passport Seva Website online

• Select “New User Register”
• Choose the nearest passport office
• Enter your name, email ID, login ID, password, date of birth, and captcha. 
• Activate the account using the credentials sent to your provided email ID. 

Step 2: Enter details on Online Passport Renewal Application

• Either download the Passport renewal application form offline, fill it and submit.
• Or, directly enter the details asked and submit on an online mode throughout. 
• Required details will be your current address, two references and their basic information, and your spouse’s details if any.

Step 3: Book Slot to Get Passport Renewal Process

• Select online payment options
• Select a convenient date for the appointment
• Download the receipt for further claims

Step 4: Collect the documents required for the reissue of the passport renewal process

Documents Required for Passport Renewal or Reissue Process

• Printed out of Online Form with the Application Reference Number (ARN).
• Original expired or soon to be expired passport
• Address proof such as utility bills, water, telephone, electricity bills, etc.
• If you provide a utility gas bill, PSK asks for two proofs of gas connections from the previous months.
• Ration Card 
• Bank Statement for 1 year and bank passbook.
• Aadhar card, Voter ID card, or another national identity card

Note: The utility bill should show 2 months of statements in which one should be from the current year, and one should be from the previous year.

All the above documents should display the address mentioned in the passport renewal application form and match each other.

In case of a mismatch, you can take the photocopy of your old passport’s first and last page followed by the ECNR information. Additionally, you are also required to carry all the other documents with your attestation.

If you change your spouse’s details, you can attach the photocopy of your original marriage certificate with their name and do not forget to carry the original certificate and an extra copy of the same.

• After the application form is filled, you need to click on the “View Saved/Submitted Applications” on the left side.
• Tap on the radio button to select your passport renewal application form.

• This will route to the page for online payments
• Select one of either options in “pay online” or “pay with challan”. 

Note: It is recommended to pay online as it is more convenient and easy to claim. 

A bank account or UPI address is mandatory  to link while you are paying online. You may also use your debit/credit card to make the payment.
