Jaipur Metro Expansion Plan Gains Momentum

 Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma recently held a meeting with officials of the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the new phase of the Jaipur Metro and devise plans for its extension. Chief Minister Sharma instructed the officials to prepare a fresh Detailed Project Report (DPR) for extending the metro from Sitapura to Ambabadi and Vidyadhar Nagar.

Focus on Seamless Transportation and Development

During the meeting, Chief Minister Sharma emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring seamless transportation for the residents of Jaipur. He expressed his aim to position the Jaipur Metro as a model metro system nationwide. Sharma stated, “The state government’s priority is to provide easy transportation facilities to the people of Jaipur. With this in mind, Jaipur Metro should be developed as a model metro across the country.” The Chief Minister also stressed the need to properly assess expenses and costs for the project. He emphasized the importance of utilizing financial resources efficiently while ensuring better transportation facilities for the common people.

Expansion Plans and Swift Implementation

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma urged officials to expedite the process of laying the foundation stone for Phase 1-D of Jaipur Metro. This phase will connect Mansarovar to the Ajmer Road intersection on the 200-foot bypass. The project has been included in the 100-day action plan of the state government, reflecting their commitment to swift implementation. In addition, Sharma directed officials to consider including major crowded areas of the city in the connectivity plan of the Jaipur Metro. This strategic move aims to cater to the needs of a larger population and enhance the efficiency of the metro system. The Chief Minister also instructed officials to keep future expansion possibilities in mind during the planning phase.

Prominent Figures Present at the Meeting

The meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office was attended by several high-ranking officials. Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister Shikhar Agarwal, Principal Secretary Chief Minister Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary Urban Development T Ravikant, and senior officials of the JMRC were among those present. The meeting highlighted the government’s determination to enhance Jaipur’s public transportation system and position the Jaipur Metro as an exemplary network throughout the country. The emphasis on swift implementation, meticulous planning, and future expansion will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of Jaipur’s infrastructure.
