Nitin Gadkari Launches Highway Projects, Boosting Infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, laid the foundation stone for 10 national highway projects in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, marking a significant step towards enhancing infrastructure development in the region.

Improving Connectivity and Relieving Traffic Congestion

During the inauguration ceremony, Gadkari emphasized the importance of these projects in relieving the city of Jaunpur from traffic congestion and establishing seamless connectivity with other crucial cities. As part of these initiatives, the construction of two bypasses in Jaunpur city and the ring road will be completed, contributing to the efficient movement of traffic within the region.

PM Gatishakti National Master Plan

Gadkari also highlighted the substantial progress made by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan. This comprehensive plan aims to enhance multi-modal connectivity and last-mile connectivity throughout the country.

Prayagraj-Dohrighat Corridor: Transforming Connectivity

The Minister specifically mentioned the Prayagraj-Dohrighat Corridor Project, which will connect the Purvanchal Expressway, 11 national highways, two state highways, five railway stations, and two airports. This ambitious project is divided into four lanes and will cover areas in Prayagraj, Jaunpur, and Azamgarh districts. Upon completion, the corridor is expected to address traffic issues in five important commercial cities: Phulpur, Mungarabadpur, Machhilishahr, Jaunpur, and Azamgarh. The establishment of seamless connectivity will not only facilitate the movement of people and goods but will also bring significant economic benefits to the region. It will open up increased employment opportunities for consumers, farmers, youth, and business people.

The event witnessed the presence of State Minister Girish Chandra Yadav, Minister Dayashankar Singh, Members of Parliament Seema Dwivedi and Pushpraj Singh, as well as several MLAs and officials.
