Prime Minister Modi unveils engineering marvels in India

In a grand ceremony, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Sudarshan Setu, the longest cable-based bridge in India. Taking pride in the engineering marvel, the Prime Minister described the bridge as a significant achievement for the country. Sudarshan Setu connects Okha mainland and Beyt Dwarka Island and has been constructed at an estimated cost of around Rs 9.8 billion.

A Unique Bridge Celebrating Culture and Technology

What sets Sudarshan Setu apart is its unique design. The bridge features a footpath adorned with verses from the sacred text Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides. This infusion of culture not only adds aesthetic value to the infrastructure but also serves as a reminder of the rich spiritual heritage of India. Moreover, the footpath of the bridge also incorporates solar panels installed on its upper portions. These solar panels generate approximately one megawatt of electricity, providing sustainable lighting for the bridge.

Facilitating Ease of Travel

Prior to the construction of Sudarshan Setu, pilgrims and residents had to rely on boat transport to reach Beyt Dwarka. This often proved to be inconvenient, especially during adverse weather conditions. However, with the completion of the cable-based bridge, travelling to Beyt Dwarka has become much more accessible and hassle-free. The bridge directly connects both locations, facilitating the pilgrims’ and residents’ ease of transportation.

Projects for Development in Gujarat

During the same event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several other development projects in Gujarat’s Dwarka. These projects are valued at over Rs. 41.5 billion. These initiatives are aimed at enhancing infrastructure, boosting the economy, and improving the overall standard of living in the region. The projects include vital sectors such as technology, industry, and real estate, and are expected to bring about a positive transformation in Gujarat.

Promoting Connectivity in Sikkim

In line with the government’s focus on improving connectivity across the country, Prime Minister Modi virtually laid the foundation stone for Rangpo Station, the first railway station in Sikkim. This move will facilitate greater access to the region, allowing for both improved transportation and economic growth. Additionally, the event also marked the foundation for about 550 Amrit railway stations, contributing further to the railway network expansion.

Enhancing Connectivity – A Key Priority for Development

The development and expansion of long-lasting infrastructure projects play a key role in the overall growth of a nation. With the inauguration of Sudarshan Setu and the foundation stone laying ceremonies for various developmental projects, the government is demonstrating its commitment to prioritizing connectivity across regions. Initiatives like these not only bring about an improved quality of life for citizens but also contribute to the overall progress and development of the country.
