The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and NPCI International Payments (NIPL) collaborated with Lyra, a French e-commerce and payments expert, to Introduce UPI at the Eiffel Tower. This fantastic news, unveiled during the Indian Republic Day reception, brought smiles to the faces of Indian tourists.
This made one complicated task very convenient: Indian tourists can now purchase tickets using their favourite UPI payment method in Indian currency.
Words from the leads of two nations! Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the vision of taking UPI global is becoming a reality. On the other hand, Ritesh Shukla, CEO of NIPL, couldn’t be happier. He said, “We’re thrilled to make it easy for Indian tourists to enjoy their trip and use their trusted UPI system. We’re all about convenience.”
Christophe Mariette, Commercial Director of Lyra France, also sees this partnership’s bright side and believes it will open up exciting opportunities for both Indian and French markets.
