Indians have emerged as the biggest investors in the Dubai real estate markets. According to figures published by the Dubai Land Department, in 2016, in terms of foreign investors, Indians accounted for the maximum no. of transactions.
The total no. of transactions by foreign investors totaled to 55,928. The value of this figure has been pegged at AED 91 billion. Out of this Indian investors contributed the maximum with 6,263 investments worth AED 12 billion.
Strong macroeconomic factors and forthcoming Dubai Expo 2020 has led to increasing demand for realty in Dubai. What makes it more attractive to Indian buyers is clear transparency in the market and better pricing. The absence of taxation also helps investors who see value in holding on to Dubai real estate. An uptake in the tourism and leisure space along with planned infrastructure projects bode well for investors and the share of Indians could only go higher from here.
