Cm to Feet and Inches – Formula and Examples

feet = cm ÷ 30.48

Inch = cm ÷ 2.54

Let us have a look at a few examples for better understanding.

Example – Convert 170 cm into feet inches

Solution: Start by dividing 170 by 2.54

170/2.54 = 66.929 inches

Next, divide 66.929 inches by 12, i.e. 66.929/12 = 5 feet

Now multiply 5 by 12, i.e., 5*12 = 60.

Now subtract 60 from 66.929, i.e., 66.929-60 = 6.929. We here round it off to 7

So, the conversion of 170 cm into feet and inches is 5 feet and 7 inches.

Example 2: Convert 150 cm into feet inch

Let us first divide 150 by 2.54

150/2.54 = 59.05511

Next, let us divide 59.05511 by 12

59.05511 / 12 = 4 feet

Next, multiply 4 by 12, i.e.. 4 * 12 = 48

Now subtract 48 from 59.05511 = 11.05511 inches

So, the conversion of 150 cm into feet inch is 4 feet and 11.05511 inches

Example 3: We are going to follow the same steps as above.

Convert 120 cm to feet inch

120 / 2.54 = 47.244

Now, divide 47.244 by 12, i.e.. 47.244/12 = 3 feet

Now multiply 3 by 12, i.e.. 3*12= 36

Now subtract 36 from 47.244, i.e., 47.244-36 = 11.244. Let us round it off to 11 inches

So, the conversion of 120 cm to feet and inches is 3 feet and 11 inches.
