Hence, the powers that were given to the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1961 were transferred to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. And with the order passed by the Government on June 8th, 2007, the 14 villages falling under the Kalyan notified area were removed from the administration of NMMC.
